Queer Health Winnipeg- A Town Hall Forum

October 19, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

LGBTTQI* Town Hall Forum

The LGBTTQI+ Interest Group at the Max Rady College of Medicine (University of Manitoba) warmly invites you to join us in an evening of dialogue and community building around issues of queer health & wellness. We hope to prioritize the voices of Winnipeg’s queer community, especially those most frequently left out of the conversation. This is an opportunity for those who dream of safe and equitable healthcare to voice their concerns to those already working in medicine and allied services. Those of us in healthcare will also speak to ongoing and upcoming work being done in this field. This event is free to attend.

We strive to create a safe space for all. Racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism and other forms of oppressive behaviours/speech will not be tolerated.

The LGBTTQI+ Interest Group is made up of a group of medical students studying and working on Treaty 1 Territory. We formed 3 years ago in an attempt to bridge gaps in our medical school curriculum as it pertained to queer health. Outside of helping to educate our peers, we have also proudly engaged with faculty and staff physicians across Manitoba. We hope that through events like this one, we can tailor our initiatives to meet real, local needs.

For those who can’t attend, please share your thoughts:
