In consideration of the recently completed UMFA strike, Awards UGME and the MMSA would like to remind you that the application deadline date for the Annual MMSA Awards has been extended to Monday December 5, 2016.
Students in the Classes of are eligible to apply for one or more of the following Annual MMSA Awards:
- MMSA Citizenship Award – Presented to a student who has shown a remarkable contribution to the social and academic well-being of medical students. Examples include: Contributions to campus events, student leadership or student advocacy
- MMSA Katherine Anne Klassen Memorial Community Service Award – Presented to a student who has been active outside the Faculty of Medicine and the Bannatyne campus. Examples include: Social advocacy, volunteer work, charitable work, youth or religious groups, etc.
- MMSA Leadership Award – Presented to a student who has demonstrated leadership qualities inside or outside the faculty. Examples include: Student Interest Group leaders, MMSA reps etc.
- MMSA Global Health Award – Presented to a student who has made a remarkable contribution to global health. Examples include: Aboriginal/First Nations, inner city, international, or refugee health
