The Rural Outreach and Mentorship Initiative (ROMI) is a program run through the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada. This program provides mentorship to high school students from rural areas by connecting them with medical students across Canada. Through this mentorship, students can learn about the transition to post-secondary education and careers in medicine.
We are starting our mentor recruitment and the sign up form will be open until October 31. We encourage any medical students with an interest in mentorship to sign up! Mentors and mentees will have 1-on-1 meetings via their preferred platform approximately once per month. There will also be larger group sessions for the high school students, which medical students are welcome to attend.
