On behalf of the MMSA, Awards UGME would like to encourage you to apply for one or
more of the following Annual MMSA Awards:
Presented to a student who has shown a remarkable contribution to the social and academic
well-being of medical students
Examples include: Contributions to campus events, student leadership or student advocacy
Presented to a student who has been active outside the Faculty of Medicine and the Bannatyne
campus
Examples include: Social advocacy, volunteer work, charitable work, youth or religious
groups, etc.
Presented to a student who has demonstrated leadership qualities inside or outside the faculty
Examples include: Student Interest Group leaders, MMSA reps etc.
Presented to a student who has made a remarkable contribution to global health
Examples include: Indigenous/First Nations, inner city, international, or refugee health
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Letter of Nomination is written by someone else to nominate
you (the student) for a particular award such as the MMSA Citizenship Award or the
Katherine Anne Klassen Community Award.

Please submit the following documentation electronically to AwardsUGME@umanitoba.caby
December 1 annually with MMSA Award Application in the subject line.
– A completed application form (attached).
– All the documentation necessary for each award applied for (please read the application
carefully).
All Applications must include on each page of all materials submitted:
– Your full name
– Contact information
– Name of the award for which you are applying
Applications received after 4:00 pm, Dec 1 (or noon next business day if deadline falls on a weekend) will not be accepted.
