Presented to a student who has demonstrated participation and leadership through volunteer and extracurricular activities, either in the Max Rady College of Medicine or the community at large. Applications are reviewed by a Selection Committee named by the Dean of Max Rady College of Medicine. The successful applicant is notified in advance and presented the award at the annual White Coat Inaugural Ceremony held in August each year.
Our 2024 recipient is Ms. Charanpreet Kaur
On campus Charanpreet is the MMSA Communications Representative Sr, President of the Manitoban CAMSAHT (Canadian Medical Students Against Human Trafficking) Chapter, Outreach Coordinator for the Manitoban UV&Me chapter and was an executive for the Geriatrics Interest Group from 2021-2023.
Off campus she is now the Mini Marlins Coordinator, the pre-competitive program for the Manitoba Marlins. She also volunteers for the annual Folklorama festival as a dancer and has been a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters for 3 years, as a mentor. Through these experiences, she has become a well rounded student, worker and person. She intends to use her experiences in her leadership and volunteering roles to better her practice as a future physician.
