The College of Medicine is hosting the annual student-run Art Show in Spring 2017 that seeks to showcase artwork done by medical and health sciences students and faculty. The Art Show runs from April 17th to April 19th in the Brodie Atrium.
The theme for artwork this year is “Unveiled”:
Mental illness impacts everyone in some way. It is widespread, affecting persons of any gender, age, race, religion, and income. So why is it so hidden? This Art Show, we are hoping to draw a connection to mental health and the challenges many face regarding the stigma and hidden nature of such illness. We encourage students and faculty members to use art as a means of expressing emotions and aspects of themselves that do not often come to surface. These may be hidden passions, joys, fears, or challenges. Lets come together and erode the barriers surrounding mental illness, and speak out against all the stigma through art!
Our Evening Opening Gala on Monday, April 17th from 5:30-7:30PM in Brodie Atrium to celebrate the artwork. Works will be revealed and we will have featured guest speakers, live music, and refreshments!
We encourage all students and faculty members to submit their art for the show! For details regarding drop-off or questions, please contact us at mmartclub@gmail.com
