From Global Climate Strike Winnipeg: “On September 27th, cities across Canada will join Greta Thunberg’s call for a general strike for the climate. This event is on track to be one of the largest mass mobilizations in human history. Join us as we demand emergency measures of the scale the climate crisis demands, in a manner that supports a just transition for workers and is rooted in the fundamental human rights of Indigenous peoples.” – Hosted by Manitoba Youth for Climate Action and Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition.
Join the movement this Friday at the Legislative Building and show our province and our country that medical students at the University of Manitoba know that the climate crisis is an issue that is to be taken seriously. Climate and health aren’t separate issues. They are so closely interrelated. The climate changes that are currently upon us and that are to come in the future if immediate action is not taken are critical to our own health and the health of the populations we serve. This is a crucial point for everyone on a global scale and this is our chance to show that the medical profession and Manitoba medical students want to see the necessary changes made to ensure our futures and the futures of generations to come.
