This workshop will be discussing “should we talk about suicide” and reflect on how stigma can affect our ability to help someone experiencing suicidal thoughts. The acronym TALK represents the needs of caregivers and people at risk of suicide. Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep Safe are needs that will be reflected upon throughout the workshop. The use of reflective questions, group discussion and working in pairs gives participants the chance to discuss how people at risk of suicide may feel as well as feelings around being a caregiver to someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts. Community resources will be discussed and available as well as information sheets on a variety of subjects related to suicide.
