What’s in your Kit? Building First-Aid Kits for Wilderness Trips

November 15, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Wilderness Medicine Interest Group’s first event of the year!

In this session we will be looking at that one piece of equipment essential for any wilderness trip – First Aid Kits.
Whether you are canoeing across the country for two months or hiking the Mantario for three days, having a first-aid kit, knowing how to use it and how to cater it to your needs is important.

What goes in a kit? What’s a SAM splint? How do I use triangle bandages? What simple first aid situations am I likely to encounter?

This session will answer these questions (and more!), with some hands on experience putting together kits, learning how to use some of the items within them, and practicing those skills in simulations.

Hope to see you there!
