Chess is a fantastic game integrating critical thinking, time-management, and most importantly, socialization! The Medicine Chess Club is a space for all interested in the game of chess from complete beginners to experts to meet with other medical students. We believe medical students need non-academic outlets to relax and socialize with colleagues while engaging in casual to competitive play. It’s especially a great way for pre-clerkship and clerkship students to come together for an activity everyone enjoys!
Some events include in-person games, casual lessons, friendly tournaments with prizes, and networking chess socials between physicians and students to provide more opportunities for everyone to network outside of the student body.
