“The Indigenous Health Working Group is made up of 7 Indigenous students and allies. Our intention is to bring together the work already being done by students as well as fill in the gaps as we respond to concerns about Indigenous student admissions, cultural safety throughout medical school, support for successful completion of medical school, curriculum concerns and changes throughout the overall curriculum and Indigenous Health course and more. We exist to bring about Indigenous advocacy and ensure that Indigenous excellence is normalized and made a priority while addressing ongoing systemic racism and microaggressions in our medical education system and healthcare at large.”
