Listen below for a very insightful (albeit long) interview with Dr. BJ Miller, a palliative care doc in San Francisco.
Dr. Miller works at the Zen Hospice Project, a residential care facility for the chronically ill whose stated mission is “to help change the experience of dying. We create space for living that offers the opportunity for individuals, their loved ones and caregivers to find comfort, connection, and healing in this shared human experience. Through our pioneering model of care, we inspire each other to live fully.” Dr. Miller himself is a triple amputee, which adds all the more to his profound experiences with life and death.
For those unfamiliar with the Tim Ferriss Show, it is a podcast devoted to “deconstructing world-class performers” – medicine is a rare topic for the program.
