The Annual Max Rady College of Medicine Art Show is now accepting submissions!
What is it?
The Max Rady College of Medicine Art Show is an annual event that exists to encourage students, faculty, and community members to put their artistic and/or linguistic talents to use! It serves as a way for students, faculty, and community members to express and share in creativity with their peers and the greater community. Works will be displayed virtually on an online platform for all to enjoy starting on Monday, May 4, 2020.
When is it?
The show will be launching virtually on Monday, May 4, 2020! We are hoping to have the works displayed virtually until Friday May 22, 2020 and possibly into the summer.
What is the theme for this year?
Each year, the Creative Arts Interest Group carefully selects a theme that we believe is relevant to medicine and society at large. This year, our theme is “The Future is Now!”. We encourage artists to consider both literal and more abstract interpretations of this theme. For example, works of art can celebrate the advances in medical technology or lament at the current state of affairs in medicine and what can go wrong if we don’t act now. Artists are welcome to submit pieces reflecting on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent quarantines. Works of art can be tangentially or directly related to healthcare and medicine. The possibilities are endless so interpret the theme how you wish!
What media can I use?
We welcome any and all media and works of art, ranging from paintings, sculptures, needlework, poetry, short stories, photography, and more! You are also welcome to submit a video of a musical performance or skit. Please ensure that all works do not contain inappropriate or offensive content, whether that is of a sexual, graphic, racist, or derogatory nature, as they will not be posted.
Who can submit?
We are accepting submissions from students and faculty from the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (not just in the College of Medicine)! We are also accepting submissions from community members who have close ties to the faculty or HSC. Feel free to email us at mmartclub@gmail.com if you would like further information.

Works of art will be on display starting on Monday, May 4, 2020! After you submit the above form, you will be contacted by a member of the Creative Arts Interest Group, in regards to emailing a virtual copy of your work.
