DEADLINE | The 2024 CMHF Award for Medical Students

The CMHF Award for Medical Students recognizes medical students with an established track record of community leadership, superior communication skills and demonstrated interest in advancing knowledge.

The criteria are available on the website: CMHF Award for Medical Students. Please note that application forms can only be obtained through the U of M office (Undergraduate Medical Education office – UGME or equivalent) – the application form is not available through the CMHF.

We hope you will promote this unique opportunity to your second-year medical students. Please include @cdnmedhallfame in your social media posts. We will be promoting the program on our social media channels; I would appreciate it if you shared with us your preferred social media handles. If you have a website link where applicants can find the materials, please share this link with me so we can reference it on our website.

Important information and deadlines:

1. Deadline for students to submit an application to U of M UGME: Friday, May 10, 2024
2. Upon thorough review of all applicants, the Dean of Medicine will nominate one candidate for this Award to the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame. This should be submitted to US by Friday, June 14, 2024 
3. You are free to notify your selected candidate that their name has been put forward for this Award pending CMHF Board of Director’s approval and notify the other candidates that have not been selected.
4. Nominations received will be reviewed and ratified by the CMHF Board of directors (pending funds secured)
5. Successful recipients will be formally notified by the CMHF by Friday, July 19, 2024.
6. A formal announcement will be published in August 2024.
