2021 College of Medicine Art Show Accepting Submissions
The Annual Max Rady College of Medicine Art Show is now accepting submissions!
What is it?
The Max Rady College of Medicine Art Show is an annual event that exists to encourage students, faculty, healthcare workers, and community members to put their artistic and/or linguistic talents to use! It serves as a way for students, faculty, healthcare workers, and community members to express and share in creativity with their peers and the greater community. Works will be displayed virtually on an online platform (https://maxradyartshow.com) for all to enjoy starting on Monday, May 3, 2021.
When is it?
The show will be launching virtually on Monday, May 3, 2021! We are hoping to have the works displayed virtually all year.
What is the theme for this year?
Traditionally, the Creative Arts Interest Group carefully selects a theme that we believe is relevant to medicine and society at large. However, we have decided not to have a theme this year. Given the year that we have had, we want everyone to have the creative freedom to express themselves. Artists are welcome to submit pieces reflecting on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent quarantines. Works of art can be tangentially or directly related to healthcare and medicine. You can also submit art that is not related to healthcare.
What media can I use?
We welcome any and all media and works of art, ranging from paintings, sculptures, needlework, poetry, short stories, photography, and more! You are also welcome to submit a video of a musical performance or skit. Please ensure that all works do not contain inappropriate or offensive content, whether that is of a sexual, graphic, racist, or derogatory nature, as they will not be posted.
Who can submit?
We are accepting submissions from all students and faculty from the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (not just in the College of Medicine)! We are also accepting submissions from healthcare workers and community members who have close ties to the faculty or HSC.
